Suceava has its major touristic attractions, including the Church of Saint John (in the UNESCO patrimony), Ethnography Museum with priceless collections, Fortress of Stephen the Great, and so on.

The Fortress
Situated on a high plateau, in the east of the town, restored in the last years, is founded by the voivode Petru I Musat, first mentioned in a document since 1388; built of stone, was later strengthened by Stephan the Great with walls over 10 m and a thickness of about 4 m.

The Village Museum from Bucovina
The Village Museum from Bucovina situated near the Fortress of Suceava points out the cultural and architectonic patrimony of folk value from Upper Country. The youngest of open air museums of Romania intertwined in the 8th decade of the last century when the village from Bucovina had lots of folk architecture monuments, but unfortunately the activity - embodied by transferring of some objectives and rebuilding of three of them - was interrupted.



Royal Inn
The Royal Inn is one of the oldest civil buildings from Moldova, the ground floor and cellars dating from late XVI century and beginning of the XVII century. The building was first designed to shelter rulers and merchants arrived in the area and later, during the seventeenth and nineteenth centuries served as an inn, royal house, hunting house for Emperor Franz Josef.

Medieval architecture Monument Mirauti
Mirauti Church is the oldest religious monument from Suceava, the work of Peter I. Musat. Together with the creation of the Metropolis of Moldova and bringing in 1402 by Alexander the Kind of relics of St. John the New to Suceava, the place becomes Metropolitan Cathedral and implicitly smearing place of the future rulers of the country. Destroyed by the Turks, probably in 1476, Stephen the Great rebuilds it offering the building a new look.

Folk Art Museum
This Museum functions in the former Royal Inn and represents a building from XVI century; house's collections of ethnography and folk art.

Museum of History
Established in 1900, exhibits interesting pieces that point out the past rich in events and heroic deeds of the people from Suceava, from ancient times until today; a special interest represent the "throne room" where, furniture, costumes and other objects evoke the atmosphere from the court of Stephan the Great.

Astronomical Observatory
Activity program:
1. Daily 9:00 - 17:00 - planetarium shows; it shows the starry sky appearance on that date or various other topics of astronomy with ZKP2 projector that can play with nearly 6,000 stars, planets visible to the naked eye, sun, moon and their movements. The program takes about 40 minutes.
2. Observations on the terrace - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 9:00 to 17:00 field glass and telescope observations of the sun.
3. 18:00-21:00 in the evening (on request overtime) there are observations of stars, planets, moon and so on. Observations are made on clear sky.

Ruins of the Royal Palace
They are situated at a few tens of meters from the Church of St. Demetrius. Together with the establishment of the princely residence from Siret in Suceava, Petru Musat I builds on the western extremity of the settlement a royal house and a tower - stone house designed to supervise the access road to the city wall by including the old buildings, but also some new constructions, finishes the ensemble of the Royal Palace and so the Royal Court of Suceava became the most representative monument of its kind in the whole territory of Moldova.

Simion Florea Marian Memorial House

Situated in the center of Suceava, "won with the pen" by the great ethnographer and folklorist, as written on a memorial plaque, bought with the money obtained from the prize awarded in 1883, by Romanian Academy for his work "Romanian Ornithological Poporanism".

Equestrian Statue of Stephan the Great
A work of the sculptor Eftimie Birladeanu, unveiled in 1977, located on the height from which the Fortress dominates the city.

The central park
Located in the heart of the city, hosts two art works: the bust of the musician Ciprian Porumbescu (a 1933 work made by the sculptor Ioan Cirdei) and the bust of Voivode Petru Rares (made in 1977 by sculptor Gavril Covalski).

Ciprian Porumbescu Memorial House

The Memorial House Ciprian Porumbescu, inaugurated in 1953, is housed in an original annex - only one survived - of the former parish house from Stupca (Ciprian Porumbescu), inhabited by the family of the priest, writer and Roman militant from Bucovina Iraclie Porumbescu, between 1865-1883.

Nicolae Labis Memorial House
Village Malini, commune Malini, Suceava County, visiting program: 10:00-18:00
Inaugurated in 1975, Memorial House is fitted up in the house from the center of the Malini village, which belonged to the poet's parents and where he lived for a while during his short and as quick as lightning life, conceiving here maybe the most significant part of its priceless poetic heritage.

The Museum Ciprian Porumbescu

Memorial Museum "Ciprian Porumbescu", inaugurated in 1971, is organized in an imposing building not only through its age (it dates from the early XIX century), but also through the details of the neoclassical architectural style.

Patrauti Church
